Charles "Billy" Moore
April 2, 1944 – April 9, 2023
West Columbia, South Carolina
With sadness the family of Charles "Billy" Moore, 79, announce his passing on April 9, 2023. Billy, born in Hampton County, South Carolina, was the son of the late Helen Kinard Reese. He was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School in 1963. For 30 years, Billy was a dedicated state employee at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, a devoted Gamecock fan, member of the Ancient Free Mason Lexington Lodge 152, and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Family include his wife, the late Brenda Moore; brother, Joel Reese III and wife, Barbara of Lexington; brother, Hunter Herring and wife, Ginny of Columbia; brother-in-law, Randy Hallman and wife, Saradean of West Columbia; sister-in-law, Kaye Ford and husband, Gene of Cayce; and his daughter, Barbara Lovelace of Port Orange, Florida and her two children, William and Shae; and his son, Oliver Moore and his wife, Jennifer of West Columbia and their daughters, Riley and Sidney; nieces, Tammy Jur, Kimberly Banks, Stephanie Coker, Jennifer Reese; and nephews, Darren Ford, Davis Hallman, Jerry Tilman, and Jordan Reese.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023, 6-8 pm at Thompson Funeral Home located at 4720 Augusta Road Lexington. A service will be held at the Woodridge Memorial Park at 138 Corley Mill Road in the Gazebo on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Jim Hogan.
