Charles Morgan Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Charles "Duck" Donald Morgan, 70, of Mechanicsville, Maryland passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, with his loving family by his side.

A lifelong resident of Southern Maryland, Duck was born on September 27, 1954, in Leonardtown, Maryland, to the late Lewis "Diddley" Matthew Morgan, Sr. and Cecelia Hope (Jones) Morgan.

Duck grew up in St. Mary's County and graduated from Chopticon High School in 1973. For much of his life, he worked as a bricklayer in the masonry trade, most recently with Howes Masonry, which he retired from in June of 2025. Throughout his working years, Duck was respected for his skill, strength, and strong work ethic.

He married the love of his life, the late Frances Grace "Stull" Morgan on July 15, 1982, and they spent 43 years together building a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories until her passing. Duck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be remembered for his hardworking spirit and his loyalty to those he loved.

A man who valued simple joys, Duck enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Moose Lodge, playing cards and watching NASCAR and football-especially his Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers. If he wasn't at the Moose Lodge, you could find Duck at Back Road Inn, Hole in The Wall, or Dewdrop playing on the pool league, playing horseshoes, or cornhole. Duck loved gambling, his favorite places to gamble included Rod N Reel or Traders in Chesapeake Beach.

He is survived by his loving daughter Jennifer Lee Carroll (Troy), his grandchildren; Trey Carroll (Amanda), Alyssa Carroll (Austin), his great-grandchildren; Whitley Absher, Wyatt Absher, Junior Blackley, Josh Wood, his siblings; Robert "Bobby" Morgan, Sr., Andrew "Andy" Morgan (Beverly), and Donna Raye Abell (J.B.).

Duck was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Frances, his siblings; Lewis "Scooter" Matthew Morgan, Jr., Calvin Linburg Morgan, Joseph "Tinnie" Thomas Morgan, James "Billy" William Morgan, Marilyn Morgan, and his granddaughter Tiffany Lee Carroll.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday September 2, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00am at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Rd Leonardtown, MD 20650, with a graveside service immediately following at 10:15 a.m. at Charles Memorial Gardens, 26325 Point Lookout Rd Leonardtown, MD 20650, officiated by Pastor Arthur Shepherd.

Pallbearers will include Trey Carroll, Austin Absher, Chris Howes, Darren, William Cochran, and Bobby Bryant. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Morgan and Ben Morgan.

Duck will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to family, his hardworking nature, and his fun-loving spirit. His presence will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Flowers can be sent to the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
