Charles "Derrick" Morrison, age 41, of Hokes Bluff, Alabama passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025 at UAB Hospital surrounded by his family. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph C. Morrison; and grand-parents, Rayford "Mac" McCain and Nannie W. McCain.
He is survived by his wife, Enola Morrison; children, Colton (Hannah) Morrison, Peyton Morrison, Baylor Morrison, Kinsey Vaughn, and Khloe Morrison; mother, Dina Morrison East; sister, Olivia "Lulu" (Matt) Gwin; nephew, Cade (Lexie) Gwin; great-nephew, Houston Cade Gwin; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Derrick enjoyed watching his children play sports, deep-sea fishing, cruises, bowling, family time, and making others laugh. He also enjoyed spending time with the VFW Veterans playing pool, cards and talking with them. He loved playing cards with his family and friends. He was an avid Florida State Seminole Fan and enjoyed watching all sports with family and friends. He was a dedicated 3rd generation employee for Vulcan Materials Corporation since 2001. Derrick graduated from Hokes Bluff High School in 2001.

A celebration of life service will be held 6pm Friday, May 9, 2025 at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Gidley and Rev. Chris Walker will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 4pm until time of service. Flowers will be accepted or Donations in Derrick's name can be made to VFW Post 2760 in Gadsden.
Honorary pallbearers will be the veterans at VFW Post 2760 and the Vulcan Materials family.
