With great sadness the family of Charles Lee Musto announced his passing on May 12, 2025, following a 15-month struggle with cancer. At 61, Charles departed this earth much too early leaving behind 10 devoted brothers and sisters, six nieces and nephews.
Charles will be remembered as a spiritual leader to family and friends. He loved his Evanston, Illinois community especially the Vineyard Church where he had many dear friends. Charles will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, wisdom and unwavering integrity--all irreplaceable gifts to those who knew him.
Charles was born on October 16, 1963, in Northlake, Illinois to Paul and Lillian Musto who pre-deceased him. He attended Rolling Meadows High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois. A talented artist since childhood, Charles had a long career in graphic design creating award-winning materials for major companies and organizations. Prior to falling ill, he held the position of art director for the pharmaceutical company, Abbvie Inc.
Charles, an inspiration and mentor to many, will be missed immensely. Family members and friends knew him as the person they could always go to for advice and solace.
He is survived by siblings: Paula Musto, John Musto (wife, Krystyna), Ann Marie Murray, Tom Musto, Rosemary Moore, Joseph Musto, James Musto (wife, Elizabeth); and triplet brothers Sam Musto, Jerry Musto and Paul Musto (wife Lucy).
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 23, 20205, at 10 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church., 455 North Benton Street in Palatine, Illinois to be followed by a visitation from 4-8 PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway in Palatine. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 9 AM at Vineyard Christian Church of Evanston, 2495 Howard Street, followed by burial at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, 1185 W. Algonquin Road in Palatine.
