Charles Ernest Neblock, 89, of Macomb, Illinois passed away on October 26, 2022 at 4:47 PM at the Macomb Acute Care Center. He was born December 11, 1932 in Catlin, IL to Carl Sylvester and Mary Alice (VanVleck) Neblock. He married Rosemary J. McQueen on June 5, 1952 in Danville, IL. She Survives.
Also surviving are three children, Carl S. (Michele) Neblock of O'Fallon, MO; Tracy N. (Richard) Payne of College Station, TX; Sheila N. Dietz of Macomb, IL; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, M. Susan Jonas, granddaughter, Melissa Jonas, brother, John Mooney and sister, Mary Alice Mooney.
After high school, Chuck joined the Air Force and served from July 1950 to September 1973. He served in the Vietnam and Korean wars. He received his BS from Florida State University, a MS and PHD from Texas A&M University. He was a professor of Computer Science and retired in 1995 as a Professor Emeritus from Western Illinois University. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Macomb. He served on the McDonough County Board for two terms. He and his wife, Rosemary recently celebrated their seventieth anniversary.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. Graveside burial of Ashes will be held at a later date in the Broadus Cemetery located in Tuscola, IL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Macomb, Illinois. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
