Charles Dean Oetting, 61, of Quitman, Texas, passed away on October 7, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1964, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, to Erwin Oetting and Gloria Odum Oetting.
Born into a military family, Charles moved often during his childhood before settling in Texas, where he graduated from Sulphur Springs High School. His passion for craftsmanship led him to a lifelong career in carpentry, where he took great pride in building and creating with his hands. In addition to his skill as a carpenter, Charles had a love for artistry and design, always finding beauty in the details.
In 2017, Charles married Sheila Parkerson, after many years of devotion to one another. Those who knew Charles will remember him for his polite and gentle nature, his soft-spoken kindness, and his big, warm smile that could light up any room.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Charles is preceded in Glory by his mother, Gloria Odum Oetting and his Sister Teresa Oetting.
Left to cherish his memory are his father, Erwin Oetting, his loving wife, Sheila Oetting; children Payton Shea Oetting, Glory Oetting Pierce, Jesse Dean Oetting, Shaina Fields, Brooklynn Nieto, and Lacey Lablanc; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations.
