Charles Pivniska Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by YANDA & SON FUNERAL HOME - YUKON on Nov. 29, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Charles E. "Chet" Pivniska, III was born on May 7, 1980, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After forty-five short but meaningful years, the Lord called him home unexpectedly on November 26, 2025.

Chet grew up on his family's farm in Yukon, where he helped his dad, brother, and grandpa care for the cattle and crops. His childhood was shaped by early mornings, long days, and the steady rhythm of farm life-instilling in him a deep appreciation for hard work and a lifelong love for animals. He participated in both 4H and FFA, organizations that helped form his strong character and work ethic.

He attended St. John Nepomuk Catholic School and later graduated from Yukon High School in 1998. A proud Yukon Miller, Chet played on the high school football team and helped lead the Millers to the State playoffs in 1997. After high school, he earned his associate degree from OSU–OKC.

In the summer of 2001, Chet met the love of his life, Amber. From their very first meeting, the two were inseparable. They married on May 24, 2003, and soon welcomed their first daughter, Kaitlyn Shay.

In November 2004, Chet was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. With remarkable courage, faith, and determination, he fought and won his battle one year later. Although he was told he would not be able to have more children, the Lord had other plans. Over the next five years, Chet and Amber welcomed two more daughters, Addison Nicole and Tayler Reese-miracles he cherished with all his heart.

Chet's girls were his world. He loved coaching their softball teams, cheering from the stands during basketball games, and supporting them through every chapter-from little league courts to college arenas. If you saw Chet, you were likely to see his girls right beside him.

In 2008, Chet began his career in the oil field, spending the majority of his time with BJ Energy. The men he worked alongside became more than coworkers-they were brothers, a second family he deeply valued.

A devoted Catholic, Chet served his parish, St. John Nepomuk in Yukon, in many roles over the years-from altar server to Eucharistic Minister. His faith was a guiding force in his life, reflected in the kindness, respect, and compassion he showed to everyone he met.

Chet wore many hats for many different people, but no matter the role-husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend-he fulfilled it with love. He leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, integrity, humility, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved most.

Chet is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles E. Pivniska; maternal grandparents, Jim and Bernadette Seikel; aunt Sara Seikel Williams; uncle John E. Kasmeier; and uncle and godfather, Robert Wedman.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Amber, and their daughters, Kaitlyn, Addison, and Tayler Pivniska; his father, Chuck Pivniska, and wife Teressa; his mother, Jamie Kilpatrick, and husband Tom; his brother, Cory Pivniska, and wife Amanda, along with nephew Cash and niece Carsyn; his sister, Shay Pivniska Tarrant, and husband Zac; and his paternal grandmother, Denna Pivniska. He is also survived by his in-laws, Eugene and Kathy Boeckman, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Chet's life was a testament to love-love of family, love of faith, love of hard work, and love of the simple, meaningful moments that make a life worth living. His hands were strong, his spirit gentle, and his heart forever generous. Though he has gone home to heaven, the mark he left on this world, and on the people who adored him, will remain for generations.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Bethany Children's Health Center or Catholic Charities.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the funeral home.

Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, with both services at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon, Oklahoma. Interment will follow the Mass at the Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, Oklahoma.
