Publish in a newspaper

Mary Kay Niles, born August 25, 1940, passed away in her sleep on November 13, 2025, at her home in Yukon, OK.

Mary Kay, a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many, lived an incredibly full life, leaving behind an enduring legacy.

As the daughter of Howard & Myrel Frank, Mary Kay began working early in life at her entrepreneurial father's Five & Dime, a variety store on Main Street in Yukon.

She spent her youth with her sisters, Betty and Joan and brother, H.B. Jr. as well as her nieces Jan, Carol, Kathy, & Claudia.

Upon graduating Yukon High School in 1958, Mary Kay attended two years at her beloved Oklahoma State University, and then married her sweetheart, Jim Niles on July 30, 1960. They resided in their hometown of Yukon, both working at Ayer's Chevrolet in Yukon with Jim in various roles and Mary Kay in clerical work. Mary Kay later worked at Pan America Oil Company.

In 1963, after Jason, their first born arrived, she dedicated her next twenty-three years to her three children, Jason, Jill, and Troy. Mary Kay worked several part-time jobs but later pursued working at the Oklahoma State Capitol where she worked as an assistant to several members of the State House of Representatives. As an assistant to Frank Lucas, she loved working for him and helping him pursue the United States House of Representatives. She continued working for his office in Oklahoma for several years.

Mary Kay later pursued a role at the Oklahoma State Capitol, as a liaison to the State House Chamber, facilitating messages and managing the pages.

Mary Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Myrel Frank, who lived to be 103 & 90. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Barrett and Joan Barrett, and her brother H. B. Frank, Jr.

She is survived in death by her husband of 65 years, Jim Niles; her children, Jason (Tammy) Niles, Jill (Perry) Groce, and Troy (Nolene) Niles; her grandchildren: Katelyn Niles and Tyler Self, Addie Niles, Peyton (Will) Bond, Caelan (Jahree) Groce, Avery Groce and Cody Hall, Landon (Kaitlin) Niles and Tate (Amanda) Niles, and one great grandchild, Veda Bond.

Celebration Services will be held on Friday, November 21 at 11:00 am at Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany at the corner of Council Road & NW 30th. The small chapel is south of the main chapel. Enter parking from Council Road.

Mary Kay had the gift of hospitality, a great sense of style, and a true appreciation for the beautiful. She loved entertaining, traveling, fashion, and shopping. Her inquisitive and amiable nature-one who never met a stranger-also had a fiery side. Known by many as a lively and spirited debater who dearly loved her Cowboys, Mary Kay will be sincerely missed by all.
