Charles David Posey, age 92, of Hackett, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on October 15, 2025. Born on August 18, 1933, in Muldrow, Oklahoma, Charles was the cherished son of Clarence and Mary (Corbell) Posey.
Charles proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, demonstrating the values of service, integrity, and dedication that would guide him throughout his life. After his military service, he pursued higher education and earned a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas-an accomplishment that reflected his deep belief in learning and mentorship.
Over the years, Charles made a lasting impact on many young lives as a high school superintendent, coach, and teacher. He had a gift for leadership and a genuine care for his students and colleagues alike. His passion for education was rivaled only by his love for the outdoors and sports. Whether hunting, fishing, or cheering on his favorite teams, Charles found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life.
Above all else, Charles was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He married his beloved wife, Jo Ann (Mannan) Posey, with whom he shared many beautiful years. Honest and hardworking, Charles leaves behind a legacy built on strong values, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family.
Charles is survived by his three children: David Lee Posey and his wife, Toni, of Midland, AR; Jo Lynn Posey of The Area; and Debra Ann Burgess of Hackett, AR; his three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his cousin, Tim Posey.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann (Mannan) Posey; his parents, Clarence and Mary Posey; and his two sons, Charles David Posey Jr. and Gary Bill Posey.
Details on his interment will be shared in the coming days. Services under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
