Herchella "Shelly" Jean Posey, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away in Lindale, Texas, where she had lived for the past six years. She was formerly a resident of Arlington, Texas, and Janesville, Wisconsin.
Born in 1955, Shelly graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1973. Over the years, she worked at Al's Snack Shop, Freeman Shoes, and as an overhead crane operator at Beloit Corporation in Beloit, Wisconsin. She later worked for General Motors in both Janesville, WI, and Arlington, TX.
Shelly was an active member of the UAW and IAM unions. She enjoyed traveling, hosting pool parties, hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing canasta with her sister, Dede. Her kindness, generosity, and fun-loving spirit touched the lives of many, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Jonathon Paul Posey; her infant grandson, Xavier Dean; her parents, Hershel (Ruth) McCown and Beverly (George) Ciseski; siblings Sheila Mae McCown, Dennis McCown, Floyd McCown, Georgeann Ciseski; sister-in-law Carmine McCown; and brother-in-law Robert Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Sherry Posey and Jeremy Posey; grandchildren Katelyn, Paige, and Alex Posey; and siblings Larry (Jane Church), Don (Diane) Grenawalt, Carol Johnson, Ron McCown, Dede (Bruce) Slagoski, John (Julie) Ciseski, Don (Doris) Ciseski, and Bobby Ciseski.
Shelly also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, her best friend Pam Sherman and special friends Kelly Ford, Vicky Farr Neumann, Linda Murray, James Harden, and Amanda Parish.
