Charles E. Proctor, 98 of Sarasota, Fl. passed away peacefully on May 29, 2022.
Born in Crafton, Pa. to Francis E. Proctor and Susan Lampe Proctor, and an older brother Frank. Charles was devoted to God, family and country. He served as a Sergeant in World War II for the 311th Infantry, 78th Division 1943 - 1946 on the European Front. In 1947, he married Jacqueline Mercer. He began his career in sales for the appliance industry in the Pittsburgh Pa. area, then worked for Whirlpool Corporation 1963-1991.
Due to his dedication and work ethic, he achieved great success in his career; when he retired as Vice-President of Sales and Distribution, Charles went on to work on special international assignments 1992 - 1997, and retired for the second time as President Whirlpool S.E. Asia / Australia.
Charles went on to work as West Coast Regional Manager for Florida Builder Appliance, Sarasota, Fl. 1998-2006. He was admired, respected and well known by all in the appliance industry.
Charles was awarded the 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite, Pittsburgh.
Charles found pleasure as an avid reader. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, boating, cars, and enjoyed fine meals created by his wife Ann.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Ann Proctor. Three children John (Martha) Proctor, Nancy (David) Kremiller, Debra Proctor. Four Grandchildren and Thirteen Great-Grandchildren. Three step-children Christopher Kelly (Vicky), Shawn Kelly and Carrie Ann Keys. Two Step- Grandchildren
Services will be held Thursday, June 23rd at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 2050 Oak St., Sarasota Florida, 34237, where Charles was an Elder.
Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Sarasota.
