Charles "Bay" Clark Raber, age 89, of Sardis, OH, went home to be with the lord Tuesday, August 13, 2024, with his family by his side.
Charles was born February 27, 1935, in Wetzel County, WV, a son of the late Thomas Clark and Martha Ellen Gray Raber.
He loved the lord and was Christian by faith.
Bay was a proud Army veteran, a former employee of B&O Railroad where he worked as a Fireman on the steam engine and Ormet as a craneman.
He was a very hard worker, enjoyed mowing as his hobby, a loving father, and most generous and giving man who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Chuckie Raber and son-in-law, Steve Coleman, four brothers, John, Mick, Bob and Harold and a sister, Charlotte.
Survivors include Loving wife and Best Friend, Ilene Raber; two daughters, Carol (Chad Smith) Coleman and Kathy (Todd) Williams, both of Sardis, OH; two sisters, Dorothy Mason and Nancy (George) Zamouzakis; daughter-in-law, Sherry Raber; 4 grandchildren, Courtney (Ryan Richmond) Raber, Mikal Raber, Erika Williams and Kelsey Williams; and 4 great grandchildren, Piper and Colton Raber, Hayden and Jayden Richmond; several nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Ron, Vera, Phyllis Jackson and Stacey Potts.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 11 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at the Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory 751 Third St. New Martinsville, WV.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park New Martinsville, with Military Honors.
