MGySgt Charles C. Rexroad, U.S. Marine Corp. (Ret), 83, of Panama City, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
Charles was born on April 12, 1941, in Bellevue, OH. He served his country proudly for 24 years in the U.S.M.C. Charles was a wonderful loving husband and father and was a very humble man to all who knew him. He was affectionately known as "Mr. Chuck" by Troupe 321 and 356 of the Cub Scouts of America. Charles was also a member of Lynn Haven Methodist Church, The American Legion Harry Jackson Lodge 314 and the Scottish Rites Free Masonry Lodge as a 32-degree Mason.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Owen Rexroad and Nina Edith Watkins; and a sister, Judy Harriss.
Left to treasure Charles' memory is his wife, Jody Rexroad; daughter, Shari Zalaznik; sons, Jonathan Rexroad and Eric Rexroad; four grandchildren; and one great- grandchildren; sister, Becky Tokarcik; brother, Mike Rexroad; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Lynn Haven Methodist Church, with Pastor Terry Tatum and Pastor Craig Carter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Charles will be laid to rest at a later date at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont, WV.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rezeq Bataineh and staff as well as Emerald Coast Hospice for the great care of Charles during his illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cub Scout packs 321 & 356.
