Charles Paul Rigdon III, born in Wilmington, Delaware, on August 10, 1940, to Mary Mayhan Rigdon Curuso, and Charles Paul Rigdon II, passed away on May 21, 2025.
He's survived by his wife of 43 years, this May 28, 2025, Shirley Ann Rigdon, and his children: Diane Rigdon Purdue, her husband Ron, Eugene McDougall (Gene), his wife Rhonda, Sherry Clark, her husband John, Kellie Hipp, her partner Andrew, Gabrielle Mills (Gabby), Abbagale Atkins (Abby), Makayla Nelson (Kk), and Arianna Nelson. Grandchildren: Tabitha Hipp, Cody McDougall, Lacey Hodge, her husband Eric, Joseph McDougall, his wife Amanda, Justin Purdue, his wife Ashley, and Emily Perdue. Along with his Great Grandchildren: Madison Stone, Scarlett McDougall, Jackson McDougall, and Kaylee Stone.
Charles retired in 1977 after 20 years from the Navy as a Chief, then worked at Metro Machine Corporation for seven years, then opened his own business R & R Marine Electric. He later went on to Norshipco, and retired to become a stay at home Dad.
A viewing will be held on May 28, 5 to 7 pm at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, VA 23320. The service will be held the following day at 1 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 1000 Indian River Rd. Norfolk, VA 23523. A reception will follow at the family home.
