Charles “Buck” Edward Ryan, age 58, a resident of Norman, Indiana was born on June 7, 1966, in Seymour, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 13 2024, at IU University Hospital. Buck was a devoted brother, cherished uncle, and a kind friend to many.

A 1984 graduate of Brownstown High School, Buck became a valued member of his community and attended the Houston Christian Church. He will be remembered for kind and caring nature, his quiet demeanor, and his empathetic spirit. Buck had a unique ability to put the needs of others before his own, reflecting his genuine compassion for those around him.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Buck found solace and joy in nature. His appreciation for all kinds of music provided a soundtrack to his life, and evenings spent playing cards and board games with family and friends brought him much happiness. These simple pleasures defined his laid-back lifestyle and highlighted his love for connections with others.

Buck is survived by his brother, Donnie Ryan of Houston, Indiana; his sisters, Glenda "Sue" Ryan of Knightdale, North Carolina, and Cynthia Rice of Freetown, Indiana; his niece Jessica Rice and her significant other Mark Ray of Seymour, Indiana; as well as great nieces Lainey Ray and Londyn Ray of Seymour, Indiana. He also leaves behind Kimberly Hodge of Freetown, Indiana, who was not only a dear friend but also a beloved caregiver.

Buck was preceded in death by his father, James Richard Ryan, and his mother, Edna Mae (Carpenter) Ryan.
