Thomas Phillip Cochrane III, a devoted husband and father, passed away on July 29, 2025, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Born on February 7, 1965, in Seymour, Indiana, he was known for his strong will, opinionated nature, and as the glue of his family. Thomas was a good man with a strong perspective who loved his family dearly.

A proud veteran, Thomas served in the Army and carried the values he learned throughout his life. He made his living as a truck driver, a role that not only provided for his family but also allowed him to see parts of the country he cherished.

His interests included working with horses, fishing, and deer hunting. He was also a longtime fan of John Wayne, whose films perhaps mirrored his own adventurous spirit. Thomas was a member of the Brownstown Community Church, where he contributed his warmth and enthusiasm to the congregation.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Dana (Beavers) Cochrane, and his children: James Hammer of Kentucky, Colton Adams of Franklin, Indiana, Tarmaine Crane and her husband Steven of Seymour, Indiana, Brigitte Vandrak of Texas, Kendell Cochrane of Bloomington, Indiana, Mattie Cochrane, Angela Hammer of Kentucky, and Sara Stockdale of Brown County, Indiana. He is also survived by his brothers: Charles Williams of Scipio, Indiana, Allen Cochrane and his wife Holly of New Albany, Indiana, Mark Mijares and his wife Brenda of Columbus, Indiana, and Michael Cochrane of Milport, Indiana, as well as his sister, Debra Anthony and her husband Michael of Crothersville, Indiana. He cherished his role as a grandfather to 10 grandchildren, who will carry on his legacy.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Diane (Tomlinson) Williams, and his brother, Scott Cochrane.

Visitation will be held at Christensen Family Funeral Home - Winklepleck Chapel in Brownstown, Indiana, on August 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Anthony Poulton officiating.

Thomas Phillip Cochrane III will be remembered fondly for his contributions to his family and community, and his enduring impact on those who knew him. His legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
