Charles Floyd Ryan, Sr., 78, of Peach Bottom, entered into rest at his home on Friday, August 29, 2025. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was the son of the late Raymond A. and Evelyn G. (Woodrow) Ryan. He was the loving husband of Linda (Wiley) Ryan for 41 years.
Charles was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Wholsen Construction Company, where he worked as a supervisor for over 30 years. Charles was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He could always be found tinkering around the house doing various projects and working on his cars.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 children: Michael Jarema, Timothy (Terryl) Ryan, Michael Ryan, Cynthia (Jerry) Fortney, and Charles Ryan; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn McMullen. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings and a grandson, Christopher Graybill.
A Viewing will take place at Dewald Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 227 W. 4th St., Quarryville, PA on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 6-7:30 p.m. Private interment will be in the Penn Hill Burial Grounds, Peach Bottom. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, 2102 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
