Charles W. Schell

1934 - 2026

Nampa - Charles Schell, a lifelong resident of Nampa, passed away on Friday, January 9th, at age 91. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, January 24 at 12:00pm at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel. An optional viewing will be held at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel at 11:00am.

Chuck was born to Mattie and Leonard Schell on May 23, 1934. He was raised on his family's farm in Nampa, alongside his siblings Hazel and Norman.

He attended Nampa Schools and enjoyed woodworking classes where he learned building skills that he would use for his lifetime. Chuck began working at Electric Bakery as a driver after high school before beginning a long career at Gem Fuel in 1955. He retired in 1999, after working there for 45 years.

In 1955, Chuck married Norma Drake. Sadly, Norma and their daughter, Tracy, passed away during childbirth. Chuck then married Patricia Cook. They had two sons, Jeff and Tim, and later divorced.

Chuck married Sandra Eiguren in 1967. Chuck and Sandy had a blended family; their marriage being one of "yours, mine, and ours." Chuck's boys, Jeff and Tim joined Sandy's kids, Tamie and Jeff. Jenn was born in 1970, making the family complete.

Chuck loved making memories with his family. His favorite thing to do was travel to his cabin, where he taught kids and grandkids how to fish, and ride motorcycles and snowmobiles. He and Sandy also enjoyed traveling, often visiting Tim and Jeff on the east coast, and Sandy's sister in the Pacific Northwest.

Chuck was proceeded in death by his parents Leonard and Mattie Schell; his siblings Hazel Tomer and Norman Schell; his children Tracy Schell and Jeff Schell; his in-laws Ron and Audrey Vahlberg. He is survived by his wife Sandy, and his children Tamie Schell, Jeff Schell (Karen), Tim Schell (Kathleen), Jenn Hocklander (Brent), ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was loved dearly and will be sorely missed.
