Charles Schuler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Starks & Menchinger Chapel - Saint Joseph on Jan. 30, 2026.
Charles (Chas/Chuck) D Schuler, 59, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on December 23, 2025.

Born in Niles, Michigan on October 31, 1966 to Chuck and Linda Schuler. Chas attended Niles High School where he graduated from in 1985. He moved to Mishawaka in 1989 and pursued his passion of following all his favorite bands/singers around the country and continuing his love for horses, specifically Arabian horses up to the day of his passing. Chas dedicated his life to working as a CNA for over 25 years specifically with the geriatric generation. He took pride in this occupation and cared so much for every patient he worked with. Chas travelled to Northern Michigan most summers to visit with family and enjoy some "mother nature" as he always called it. He always made sure to stop in Saugatuck during those trips.

Chas will always be remembered for his love for 80s music, specifically Madonna and his most all time favorite, Belinda Carlisle. His most recent obsession with The Struts and Chappell Roan. We'll always remember him for this as this would bring out his true smile and so much excitement. He always had the best stories about concerts he attended and was always planning on his next concert to attend. He shared many of these concerts and events with some of his closest friends. We will miss Chas everyday but these memories will stay with us forever and so will his memorabilia of every show he attended.

He is survived by his parents Chuck and Linda Schuler, sister Tekla Derks, niece Katy (Frank) Israel, nephew Tommy Derks, great-niece Ava Israel and many uncles, aunts and cousins world-wide.

He was preceded by death by his grandparents Robert and Tekla Innes, grandparents Mert and Carrie Schuler and his aunt Julie Innes and aunt Kati Innes.

The family has decided to have a private Celebration of Life for only family and close friends in Northern Michigan. More details to come.
