Norma Jean Harness, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the Center for Hospice Care Ernestine M. Raclin House in Mishawaka. The daughter of Raymond and Kathryn (Rains) Kreighbaum, Norma was born on April 23, 1955 in Plymouth.
Norma married Paul D. Harness on August 14, 1976. Over their 50 years together, they made countless memories with their family while raising their children, Jeff, Jeremy, and Jon. Their hearts grew even more as their proudly took on the role of being grandparents.
Working as a dietary aid for over 20 years at Miller’s Merry Manor, Norma retired in 2024. She looked forward to playing bingo on Sunday’s at the Knights of Columbus and her weekly breakfast with her sister and niece every Tuesday. In her free time, she enjoyed watching movies with her son, Jon.
A woman of strong faith, Norma was a dedicated member of Heartland Church in Plymouth.
She will be missed by her husband, Paul; her children, Jeff Harness, Jeremy Harness, and Jon (Tammy) Harness; grandchildren, Gabby Harness, TJ Harness, Nicholas Hopkins-Sanders and Christopher Hopkins-Sanders; bonus grandson, Mateo Rayes; along with her sister, Sandy Sickman.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Kathryn; daughter, Paula Jean; and brothers, Larry Kreighbaum and Carl Kreighbaum.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 12-2PM at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 2PM.
Per her wishes for those attending the services, please wear Norma’s favorite colors: light pink or blue.
Norma will be laid to rest at Grovertown Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Paul Harness to help cover Norma’s medical expenses.
