Charles D. Shuster

Charles D. Shuster, age 76, of Wharton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, January 23, 2026. He was born December 29, 1949, in Marion, to the late Donald C. and Betty Jean (Egger) Shuster.

Charles married the love of his life, Barbara E. (Gibson) Shuster, on June 6, 1970, and she survives in Wharton. Also surviving are his children, Douglas (Niki) Shuster of Forest and Lorie (William) Gladden of Findlay; a daughter-in-law, Virginia S. Shuster of Findlay; grandchildren, Shelia, Lynsie,Chantel, Evan, Will, and Liam; and great-grandchildren, Charlee, Wyatt, Elizabeth, and Charlotte. He is also survived by a brother, Donnie Shuster of Harpster, and two sisters, Peggy (Dean) Passet of Upper Sandusky and Maxine (Jerry) Haefer of Wharton. Charles was preceded in death by his son, David S. Shuster, who passed away June 15, 2017; a half-brother, Larry Day; and two half-sisters, Mary Alice Nye and Kay Day.

A 1969 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Vietnam Veteran. Throughout his working life, he farmed alongside Roger Mawer, worked at Continental/Forest Machine in Forest, Engineer Wire Products, Upper Sandusky, and was the owner-operator of Shuster's Skids in Wharton. He also dedicated his time to the community as a member of the Wharton Richland Union Volunteer Fire Department.

Charles enjoyed working in his garage, gardening, playing softball, golfing, and-most of all-spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bringman Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor David Odegard officiating. Interment will follow at Wharton Richland Union Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
