A little late here but I was one of Dr. Silberstein´s patients. He did my heel cord extension and tendon transfer when I was 6 years old in 1988. The man gave me a mostly normal life with that operation and I´ll always be grateful.

Dr Silverstein took care of my son Alexander as a baby. He was born premature at one pound thirteen ounces! He had hemiplegia of the left side. Dr Silberstein was the most Professional, most kind, most caring doctor. Our family loved him. Dorothy yaffe

My sincerest condolences to the Silberstein family. Dr. Silberstein was a friend to both of my parents. My mother worked in his first office and my Dad knew his father and , I believe, played tennis with both of them. The good doctor fixed broken bones in both my mother and my daughter many years later.
As all have said, he was a most kind and caring man.

I met him in the OR at GbMC in 1973 as a young nurse. He was always kind, caring and never inclined to arrogance. He clearly was admired and loved by those who saw his brilliance in spite of his humility and I realized even then, he was doing God´s will every day. I am blessed to have known him. May his memory be a blessing to his family. He walks in the Light.

I´m so sorry to hear of ur loss. I know u will him terribly. I started working under him at Kennedy Kreiger in 1974 through the Orthopedic/Cerebral Palsy Clinic. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Classy, handsome, ridiculously intelligent, and honestly one of the dearest souls I´ve known. His love and caring for his pediatric patients and their families, along with all the employees he treated. When I needed my first knee replacement, I was so sad he wasn´t doing surgery anymore. He taught a lot. He was the first orthopedist I had ever met. He, Steve Kopits and Vern Tolo along with bob zadek were the consultants back then. His private office back then was the infamous 4 East Madison address. He had a bedside style that was calming to some of the scared and nervous gals and fellas he treated I loved hearing stories about The Children´s Rehab Institute in Reisterstowni, the precursor to Kennedy). He and quite a few others came to Kennedy when CRI moved to JHH. I don´t mean to run on, but just wanted to convey my deep admiration and caring for him. He´s got some mighty big shoes to fill. My deepest sympathies. His memory still to this date comes to mind often.

Dr. Silberstein was one of the gracious ,knowledgable wonderful physician I have ever met. It was a true pleasure and honor to work with him in the ortho clinic (KKI). He treated every patient with kindness. He took the time to really get to know his patients.
Every patient and family loved him. He would tell us nurses the best stories about his career. He could always put a smile on our faces. He was one of a kind. He will truly be missed. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
