Charles Ellis Smack Jr., known to family and friends as Charlie, Charlie Buck and Silver Fox peacefully passed away Sunday September 15, 2024, at his mother's house in Seaford, DE. He was 52 years young as he had just celebrated his birthday.
Charlie was born on September 13, 1972, at Nanticoke Memorial in Seaford, DE to the late Charles Ellis Smack Sr. and Lorraine C. Norwood. Charlie was raised in Bridgeville, DE where he received his education from the Woodbridge School District as part of the class of 1991. Charlie worked for years with Harrison Paving Contractor until he had the desire to obtain his CDL license. It was always a goal of Charlies to be a "Driver", so he began working for Crystal Steel Fabricators in Delmar, DE in June 2019 as parts person. Charlie was the 1st employee to take advantage of Crystal Steel's new Professional Development Assistance Program. Charlie was enrolled in a CDL training program at the American Driver Academy in New Castle, DE where he graduated and obtained his Class A CDL license on July 28, 2020. Charlie has driven tractor trailer up and down the East Coast but his main satisfaction was being behind the wheel of a dump truck. His favorite saying was" If you can't find them, grind them".
Charlie had a passion for grilling and loved to Bar-B- Que and fry fish with the benefit of knowing people genuinely enjoyed his cooking. Charlie looked forward to owning a food truck known as "Smack's Hood Snacks."
Charlie's greatest accomplishment in life was being a "Daddy" everyone who really knew Charlie knew his pride and joy was his children. He was such a proud father, and his life revolved them. They gave him a sense of purpose and drive to want to be a better person.
Charles was preceded in death his parents, two sons Adrian Holt and Charles Smack III, two daughters Charlize Smack and Jada Smack, one sister Gwendolyn Washington and let's not forget his partner in crime Uncle Ralph Smack as he would say "The stories to be told back Smack Alley is not for every ear!"
Charlie leaves behind loving memories to be cherished by his children, Emonie Smack (His Mo) Charles Smack IV (His Bobbles) and Raven Smack (His Tootie); God daughter Makayla Harris, sisters Alexis Smart and Yolanda Reynolds, his former wife who still loved him Bambi Smack and a host a aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Too many to name individually as the Smack Family is abundant but nevertheless all loved the same!
