Charles "Barry" Smith, at 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, Philadelphia.
He was born in Oceanside, California at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton to parents who were both Marines, the late Lee and Alice D. Dail (Plough) Smith. He was the first Marine baby born in that hospital. Charles proudly served in the Navy and then the Army in Vietnam, Korea, Germany and the U.S. He later performed maintenance in apartment buildings. He enjoyed compiling music files, fishing, watching old movies and especially loved his cats. Charles was an avid bowler and at one time considered turning professional.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lee and Alice Smith; and his brother, Randall V. Smith.
Charles leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his stepson, John Wallick; sister, Lindalee B. (Smith) Rose; brother, Stephen C. Dail; nephew, Manuel P. Rose; and nieces, Tess A. Huggins and Samantha N. Dail.
