Charles Hammond Smith, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 3, 2024, in Neosho, Missouri at the age of 89 with his devoted wife Sandra Smith by his side.
Charlie was born on October 23, 1935, to Somer and Sadie Smith in Rockport, Texas. Charlie loved watching sports including the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and Texas A&M Aggies. He was a skilled fisherman who could be found on his boat with a rod and reel in his hand any day of the week. He instilled a love of fishing in all of his children and grandchildren and will forever be remembered in those Rockport sunsets.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 48 years Sandra Smith and children Susan Kurtz, Charles “Bubba” Smith (Nilsa) and Hayley Carman (Dan), as well as his 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Travis Smith, and daughters Donna Beatty, Cheri Sanchez, and Heidi Goodwin.
Funeral services will be on November 11th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport with a reception to follow.
