Charles A. Sneddon

Charles A. Sneddon, age 91, of Pickerington, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Salem, Ohio, on September 13, 1934, he was the son of the late William and Ruth (Moore) Sneddon. Charles graduated from Salem High School in 1952, where he met the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Coletta Kleinman. The two were married on October 10, 1953, and were blessed to share 69 years of marriage together.

Following graduation, Charles proudly served in the United States Navy Reserves from 1951 to 1959. He went on to enjoy a long career with Columbia Gas of Ohio, dedicating 39 years of service before retiring.

Charles was known by many as a true handyman; trustworthy, kind, generous, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a talented woodcrafter, carpenter, and gardener whose skills and creativity touched countless lives. He also shared his time and gifts through Habitat for Humanity, as well as helping family and friends with electrical, plumbing, and carpentry projects.

Faith was central to Charles's life. He took on leadership roles in the Lutheran churches he attended throughout the many towns he called home, including Salem, St. Clairsville, Norwalk, Avon Lake, Toledo, and Pickerington. Through his faith and service, he built lifelong friendships and a strong sense of community.

Above all, Charles was a devoted family man. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, and they, in turn, were blessed by his unwavering love, guidance, and wisdom. His legacy will live on through the family he so deeply loved and the countless lives he touched with his generosity and kindness.

He is survived by his children, Jeanne Sneddon, Colette (Scott) Urquhart, Charles (Susette) Sneddon Jr., Denise McGougan, and Renee (Maurice) Burch; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and loved ones.
