Charles Ray Stephens, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Brown Memorial Home, Circleville, Ohio. Charles was born in Hometown, West Virginia on September 29, 1940.
He was a millwright worker, and retired from the Ohio Carpenters Local Union Hall. He was always so personable & very outgoing. He enjoyed spending time with family and loved to travel and was always on the go! He also liked to go gambling for fun, enjoyed ceramic painting and making a lot of wood sports memorabilia for the family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Stanley & Letha Stephens; siblings: Harold, Mildred, Lorene, Ralph & David and the love of his life companion of nearly 40 yrs Mary Swartz (They were truly 2 peas in a pod).
Survived by his dear sister, Mary Purdy and all of the Stephens side family & closest friends back home in Hometown, West Virginia; and his Ohio family in Ohio, Mary's daughter Rosemary, several "Special" grandchildren & great grandchildren. He had a "Special" relationship with granddaughter/caregiver Cherie.
Family will be received, followed by private graveside service at Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Route 62 - Harmon Rd, Red House, Putnam County, WV 25168.
Arrangements have been completed with JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St.
