Charles "Chas" Laurence Stonage, 63, of Rural Valley, died at his residence surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, June 23, 2025.

He was born in Pittsburgh in 1961 to Charles L. and Mary (Sisson) Stonage.

Chas had a soft spot for his fur babies, Maggie and Sadie. He and Maggie would play ball for hours and Sadie, the pretty little princess, would sport her pretty dresses.

Chas was passionate about his job as a registered nurse working for Allegheny Valley Hospital Emergency Room where he retired.

He enjoyed refereeing high school football, camping, motorcycle riding, and playing his guitar. One of his fondest memories was the STYX concert and motorcycle rides.

Surviving is his wife, Corina (Brown) Stonage, the love of his life, who he met in 2006. Excited to start their new life together, they were married on June 5, 2009 on a cruise to Bermuda. Also surviving are his two children and four stepchildren, Kevin and wife, Nichole, David, Deborah and husband, William Bouch, Jr., Jessica McDowell, Cecil McDowell, Peggy and her husband, Kenneth Goldstrohm, and one adopted daughter, Crystal Stivason; five stepchildren and one adopted grandchild, Molly, Emily, William, Owen, Maryann, and Theda.

Chas was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., Rural Valley. A funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Carl Johnson, officiating.
