Charles Stone Sr., age 93, of Hartsville, peacefully departed on Tuesday, September 3, 2025, at his home. He was born on August 19, 1932, in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Charles was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the United States Army for over 20 years. He served his country in Korea, Japan, and 3 tours in Vietnam.
Charles was best known for his meticulous ways and strong work ethic. He was an exceptional husband and father, who worked hard for his family.
In his leisure time Charles loved fishing, cooking, and canning. He was a Free Mason for over 60 years, and a member of Old Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, in Bethpage.
Although Charles will be dearly missed, his family takes peace he is reunited with his late wife, Martha and is no longer suffering with his illness. May he rest in peace.
Charles Franklin Stone Sr. is survived by his son, Charlie Stone; niece, Phyllis Shoulders (Ricky); and sister, Mary.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Martha L. (Porter) Stone; father, Clarence E. Stone; mother, Margaret (Conquest) Stone; and brothers, Louis and Harold.
Funeral services for Charles Stone will be held at Crestview Funeral Home on Monday, September 8, 2025. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. and continue until service time, at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Jake Sullivan will be officiating. Interment in Crestview Memory Gardens will immediately follow. Those serving as pallbearers are Ricky Shoulders, Joe Rhoton, Chris Green, Richard Green, Kenny Manning, and Sandy Sanders.
