He was born on May 21, 1946, in San Rafel, California. As a young man, Jim honorably served in the United States Army. Following his military service, he earned a master’s degree from Calumet College of St. Joseph, in Whiting, Indiana. Jim worked for the Federal Government for over 40 years, most of his career he labored as a Certified Public Accountant.
Jim was known to be certain and loved the facts; although he was reserved, he could also be outgoing and was full of surprises in his later years.
Jim adored his grandchildren and loved attending their extracurricular activities. He also enjoyed golfing, playing pool, and boating. Jim was an avid reader, especially of murder/mystery novels.
Jim and Gigi Chase have been members of Indian Lake Peninsula Church, of Hendersonville, for over 30 years.
Jim was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who created many memories that will forever be cherished by his family.
Although his passing brings deep sorrow, his family takes peace that through Jesus Christ, they will be reunited one day.
Jimmy Woodrow Chase will be missed dearly by his loving wife of 36 years, Gigi Chase; daughter, Angela (Chase) Bastin (Martin); sons, Thomas Charles Frazier, Frederick Price Frazier (Kara), Dr. Christopher Graham Frazier (Brandy); grandchildren, Chase Bastin, Kelley Bastin, Ava Grace Frazier, Naomi Frazier, Jared Sprinkle (Macy), Carter Garrett, Callie Frazier, Brandon Johnson, Graham Frazier; great-grandchild, Mac Sprinkle; brothers, Vaughn Chase, Johnny Chase; as well as canine companions, Frankie and Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Chase; mother, Hazel Chase; sister, Peggy Jeffers; and brother, Tommy Chase.
A celebration of life in honor of Jim Chase will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
