Mizell Funeral HomeCharles H. "Chuck" Stroh, of Steelville, Missouri, passed away on March 2, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on January 27, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of Edward and Gertrude (Kipfer)) Stroh.
Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. He was a member of Navy & Seafarers Union. He went on to build a successful career as the owner and operator of Stroh Construction – Concrete Flatwork and provided homes for many as a landlord. Outside of his professional life, Chuck was a thrill seeker from 4 wheelers to jet skis. He also cherished time snow birding in KW, but his favorite place by far was the land and home in Cherryville.
One of Chuck’s most significant achievements was his long-standing commitment to sobriety, being an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 44 years, which profoundly impacted his life and the lives of those around him.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gertrude (Kipfer) Stroh, and his brother, Bruce Stroh.
He is survived by his two children, Scott Stroh and Jessica Stroh, both of St. Louis; his granddaughter, Evelyn Stroh; and two sisters, Sylvia Kaufman of St. Louis and Christine Marrone of Antioch, California. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends who will fondly remember him.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Todd Holman, officiating. Military honors will conclude the service.
In accordance with his wishes, Chuck will be cremated following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Alcoholics Anonymous 14 Sunnen Drive St. Louis, MO 63143 or www.aastl.org
