Charles L. Sturgeon

Charles L. Sturgeon, 77, of Kilbourne, passed away at his home at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2025. He was born on February 28, 1948 in Grantsburg, Indiana to Cecil and Violet (Eastridge) Sturgeon. He married Dana M. Morris on July 29, 1972 in Danville, Illinois, and she preceded him in death on July 3, 2019. Charles is survived by his son, Chad (Audra) Sturgeon; grandchildren, Breanna Marie Sturgeon and Austin Tyler (Bree Reed) Lawrence; great-granddaughters, Nova and Nora, with a great-grandson on the way; brothers, Gary L. (Kathy) Sturgeon and Colbert W. Sturgeon; sister, Barbara S. (Sturgeon) Tallman; sister-in-law, Jenny (Morris) Rodman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Charles was a devoted member of Kilbourne Community Church and a man of strong Christian faith, always ready to lend a helping hand to others without hesitation. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later built a career with the railroad. Charles had many passions throughout his life, including antique cars, coin collecting, and playing rook with friends and family. He also had a special companion in his beloved cat, Cream Puff, who brought him much joy. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at Kilbourne Cemetery, with a visitation from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Rev.
