Charlie was employed by Roadway Express for 31 years and was a dedicated Teamster.
Charlie requested several times that he did not want a service. He said he wanted his friends to remember him as he was; strong and living life on his terms. He had a huge personality with a spontaneous sense of humor, that was sharp and sometimes absolutely inspiring.
Charlie was a State Champion Power Lifter. He competed in super heavy weight classes in Mississippi and Louisiana. It was a discipline and a lifestyle for him.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Edie Thrift; son, Christopher Thrift; granddaughter, Rhiannon and three nieces, Angel, Jenny, and Kim.
Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
