Charles Dana Utgard, Jr, 74, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026 in his home in Overton, NV. Charles was born on June 15, 1951 in Portland, OR to Charles Dana Utgard, Sr. and Conda Ruth Moody. He married Kristine Kay Ojala on August 31, 1974, and they were life-long sweethearts until she passed away on February 9, 2026.
Shortly after their marriage, they both enlisted in the United States Air Force and were the first married couple to be kept together as they were stationed. They served together in the Vietnam Conflict and spent their first year of marriage stationed at Osan in South Korea. Following the war, they were stationed at George AFB in CA which they would later make their home. After an honorable discharge, he and Kristine moved back to Portland where he worked as a traffic officer in The Dalles. When they moved to Apple Valley, CA, he worked for the California Highway Patrol before transitioning into Investment Banking and ultimately developing a career as a Financial Advisor. He was the President of Victorville Rotary Club in 1994 and remained a member until moving to Overton, NV in 2013 after his daughter finished high school. He fully retired in 2016, but never stopped helping everyone he could. He was a faithful member of the Lake Mead Baptist Church and the Moapa Valley Rotary Club. He loved being a pilot, a cop, working on cars, and puttering around in his Jeep. He loved his family and enjoyed travelling the country to visit everyone.
Charles is survived by his children, William Dana Jewel Trussell and Dana Utgard; his granddaughter, Heather Trusell; his sisters, Hope Darcy and Faith Craven; and his cousin, Stuart Utgaard. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kristine Kay Utgard, and his parents, Charles and Conda Utgard.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, 9:20 a.m. at the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1900 S. Veterans Memorial Blvd, Boulder City, NV 89005.
