Charles Vecchi, 93, passed away on August 7, 2024 in Las Vegas, NV.
Charles was born in Des Moines, IA to Josephine and Dominick Vecchi on August 23, 1930.
After Graduating from Dowling High School in 1949, he moved to New York City & lived in the YMCA for 8 months to break into Theater, “I was almost cast in ‘Kiss Me Kate’ but got drafted in 1951 into the Army during the Korean War.” After serving in the U.S. Combat Engineer Corps, he settled in Chicago. In 1953 he opened up a small printing and mailing company with Partner Eugene Kirk for 42 years. He married Celia in 1961, had 3 Children together, and divorced in 1967. They sold the printing company and retired to Las Vegas in 1996. Charles worked part-time as a Rural Route carrier for Paradise Valley US Post Office delivering mail for 14 years. Active in Richards Radio Company and several Dance and Theater groups entertaining at Nursing homes, Senior Centers, and Fraternity groups in his spare time. He enjoyed bicycling, growing vegetable & flower gardens, Entertaining, Tap Dancing, Traveling, Theater, Oil Painting, and Cooking.
Charles was active as a Lector at the Guardian Angel Cathedral, St. James Church and a Member of St. Francis of Assisi Fraternity Group in Las Vegas. He enjoyed visiting all the Beaches near San Diego, the Monks in Oceanside, and his Brother Gene in Garden Grove, California.
Charles is preceded in death by his Sister (Vicky) Victoria and Brothers Larry (Lawrence) and Gene (Eugene).
Survived by his Children: Melanie, Richard, and Mark. Grandchildren: Anita, Anthony, Christopher, Nikia, Nicholas, Micheal, Angela, Tessa, and Nathan. Great-grandchildren: Amber, Emmi, Zackary, Kinzie, Leland, Izaiah, Giovanni, Caytlin, Jaycee, Aubrie, and Charlotte. Nieces and Nephews: Saundra, Karen, Rene, Larry, and Joespeh.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Davis Funeral Home & Memorial Park 6200 S Eastern, Las Vegas, NV. Burial is to follow at 3:00 pm.

The family of Charles D.
