Charles Norman Warnock

Charles N. Warnock, 80, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2nd, 2026, at Wilson Healthcare and Rehab Center in Wilson, North Carolina, after a long illness.

He was born April 10th, 1945, in Granite City, IL, the son of Charles Warnock and Beatrice (Hodges) Warnock. A faithful member of his church community, he found joy in worship and often shared his gift of music through song and piano.

He leaves behind his wife, Janet; his sisters, Nancy and Charlotte; his children, Lance, Charlessa, Miranda, Michelle, Jennifer, and Grant; many grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved German Shepherd, Durango Colorado.

Mr. Warnock joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduation from high school. Following the completion of his service, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served with distinction and completed two deployments to Vietnam. After returning home, he continued his service in the Army Reserves and was later called back to active duty during Operation Desert Storm, supporting the 114th MASH Unit in Saudi Arabia.

After retiring from active military service, Mr. Warnock went on to share his love of learning as an instructor of physics and general sciences at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida. He was a dedicated NC Courage fan and season ticket holder.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 14th, 2026, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel with military honors. The family will visit immediately following the service.
