Charles Warzecha Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 4, 2026.
Charles "Chuck" Warzecha, age 81, entered into eternal rest on February 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Chuck was born on June 26, 1944, in Cuero, Texas, to the late Joseph and Helen Warzecha. Chuck was the youngest of six children and was preceded in death by his sisters, Lillian (Kelly) and Valeria (Paul), along with his brothers, Clarence, James (Nelda), and J.T.(Janie), as well as his brother-in-law, The Honorable Joseph Ingolia, and niece, Kathy. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Joy, his daughter, Danielle, his son, Matthew, his grandchildren Kevin, Jeff and Mark, and his loyal companion, Jack, the black lab. Chuck is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Ruby (Clarence) and Maxine (Joseph), nieces and nephews Mark (Susan), Gary (Gail), Marsha (David), Ronnie (Lynn), Patty, Brian, John, Michael (Kim), Jennifer, Joey (Diane), and Debbie (Rob) along with many great nieces and nephews.

Chuck was raised in Yorktown, Texas, and was a graduate of Yorktown High School. Upon graduation, Chuck headed east to visit his sister and remained in the Virginia, DC, Maryland area for 38 years. Chuck served in the Army and then continued his college years at the University of Maryland, College Park. After his marriage to Joy, he was hired by the Federal Government and remained and employee for almost 30 years. You could find Chuck, on any given weekend with his family and friends cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, launching his boat on the Chesapeake Bay, socializing with friends, helping neighbors, attending Mass, listening to his favorite music with songs like "Kansas City" while exchanging jokes via email with family and friends. Chuck never met a stranger, if you met him, you were his friend.

After retiring, Chuck and Joy moved to Texas to be near family and remained there for 26 years while spending several months a year at the beaches of Maryland and Delaware. In 2024 Chuck and Joy moved back East to spend time with family and old friends, but most of all to enjoy the Delaware beaches year-round.

We hope you will remember Chuck's ever-present smile and his wonderful sense of humor that stayed with him until the end. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held on April 9, 2026, at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8500 Cross Mountain Trail, San Antonio, Texas, 78255. There will be a Rosary at 10:00am and a Mass at 11:00am, followed by a reception at the church. We will be celebrating Chuck's life in Delaware a later date.
