It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles A. Williams, affectionately known as "Chick" or "Papa Chick," who left us peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 20, 2025. He was 78 years old. Born in Philadelphia on May 8, 1946, Chick grew up in Haddonfield, NJ, where he made lifelong connections and memories. He was the cherished son of the late Harry and Patricia Williams. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Musciano), children, Jennifer Williams, Michael Williams, Julia Cassavant (Chris), Nicole Blank (Robert), Regina Santos (Jason), and Carla Buck-Cimino (Lisa), his sister, Kathy Williams- grandchildren Deven, Trinity, Courtney, Jonah, Isaac, Miranda, Ella, Amelia, Londyn, Harrison, Selah, Oliver, Levi, Laci and great-grandson Atlas. He was predeceased by his sister Eileen. Chick wouldn't want us to neglect mentioning his beloved pups of the present & past that he loved & adored.
Chick graduated from Haddonfield High School in 1964. Prior to receiving his engineering degree from Drexel University, he honorably served his country for four years in the Air Force. He then went on to begin his long and successful career as an engineer. Chick spent over 30 years at DuPont, rising to the position of Senior Engineer, where he was recognized for his remarkable contributions to technology.
In his personal life, Chick was a man of many interests and passions. He loved spending time with his family and friends, whether traveling, bowling, camping, enjoying the beach, and especially sipping a Corona light ("without a lime!") by the pool. He also took great pride in "tinkering" all things around his home with his deeply intelligent mind and creative hands. These beautiful gifts also overflowed into each of his children's homes. Chick was an endearing and patient man. While he wasn't a man of many words, when he spoke, his intelligent thoughts were spoken with purpose and discernment. Chick's legacy of quiet kindness, dedication, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A viewing will be held on Monday, March 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Eugene J. Zale Funeral Home. A 2nd visitation will be held Tuesday morning 11:00 AM-12:00pm at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church 433 Park Ave Laurel Springs, NJ. Followed by a service at 12:00PM. Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Berlin, NJ
In honor of his memory, the family requests that donations be made to St. Paul's Presbyterian Church.
Chick's warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
