Jacqueline Mae "Jackie" Tomassetti

Jacqueline "Jackie" Mae Tomassetti, aged 91, passed away peacefully in her home on
Amelia Island, Florida, on Friday, August 15, 2025. Born in Ashtabula, Ohio, in 1934,
Jackie grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania, before getting married and raising her family
at Lake Mohawk in Sparta, New Jersey. In 1981, she made the move to the
beautiful Amelia Island, where she spent the second half of her life.
Jackie was the beloved daughter of the late Norton and Edna Hotchkiss and the
cherished wife of the late Armond "Bob" Tomassetti. She is survived by her three
sons, Jeffrey, Jimmy, his wife Carol, Jonathan, and his wife Carina, as well as her
grandchildren, Jack, his wife Natalia, Jazz, his wife Lauren, and Lana Tomassetti,
and her great-granddaughter, Amelia Tomassetti Botero.
A proud graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jacqueline had
a diverse and fulfilling career. She worked as a dietitian for Stouffer's Restaurants,
served as a librarian at the Sparta Public Library in New Jersey, and was a dietitian
at Andover Subacute and Rehabilitation Center in New Jersey. Later in her career,
she transitioned to technology, obtaining a degree in Computer Programming at
Jones College Jacksonville and working as a programmer at Atlantic Business
Machines, Fernandina Beach, Florida, and at Lockheed Kings Bay Georgia.
Jackie had a zest for life and enjoyed sailing, traveling, camping, reading, and
cooking. Sailing led her to compete in Lightning sailboat races with Bob for many
years. After their retirement Jackie and Bob enjoyed sailboat cruising taking their
boat for extended trips to the Bahamas most winters. She was a lifelong member of
the United Methodist Church, where she found community and support
throughout her life.
Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew
her. A celebration of her life will be held at Memorial United Methodist Memorial Church,
Fernandina Beach on September 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM where family and friends will gather to honor her memory.
