On the morning of March 26, 2025, Richard Carmen Tomassetti went to be with the Lord. He was born on March 10, 1942, to the late Rocco and Mary Tomassetti. As a young man, he married the love of his life, Delores Tomassetti (nee Midure), with whom he just celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary. He worked for Whitehall before becoming a police officer for the Winslow Township Police Department. After a long and distinguished career, Sergeant Tomassetti retired to enjoy his life with his family, including family vacations to Florida and the Jersey Shore. Rich and Dee also loved traveling to Mexico to celebrate their shared birthday. Ever needing to be busy, he continued to work as a volunteer firefighter (where he was past President), stayed actively involved with the Fraternal Order of Police, served as the past Deputy Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, and drove ambulances for VCI. But most importantly, he spent every minute he could with his family.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Delores and his children Doreen (Gary) Stowell, Michele McAdams and Sharon (Anthony) Donio. His grandkids Desiree (Bill) Adams, the late Jennifer Stowell, Tina (Joe) Rouh, Randall McAdams, Danielle Stowell, Ashley (Andrew) Davis and Anthony Donio were his pride and joy and are heartbroken at his loss. Maybe more importantly, his great grandkids Jenna (Greg), Makenzie, Adrianna, Kaylee, Emily, Chase, the late Madelynn, James, Hudson, Landon, Jolene, and Halley are going to miss their Pop Setti's so very much. He will also be missed dearly by his sister Eileen (the late John) Mascio, his brother's and sister's-in-law and so very many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including his close friend Jack Knoll and his "adopted daughter" Chrissy Dingler. He was predeceased by his in-laws Austin and Concetta Midure. The world feels a bit darker without him here.
Visitors are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday evening, April 1st, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again on Wednesday morning, April 2nd, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 West White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following the viewing on April 2nd, 2025 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the Redeemer Church, 318 Carl Hasselhan Drive, Atco, NJ. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 248 South 1st Road, Hammonton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rich to the following would be appreciated: The Unforgotten Haven, 42 S. Black Horse Pike, Blackwood, NJ 08012, The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 9, P.O. Box 4161, Lindenwold, NJ 08021, or any charity of your choice.

To the Tomassetti Family,
Our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers, for your loss. Richie loved life and his family, especially the grandchildren. A shift never went by when he did not talk lovingly about you. He was in inspiration on the job, guiding the young officers to become the old officers. I can't help but mention his great sense of humor. His dedication and love of his family and his community. This is his Legacy. We shall all miss his him, yet shall forever feel his presence as he watches over all.
