REVEREND CHARLES LAVAL WILLIAMS, a devoted servant of God, beloved father,

grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, after a courageous battle with cancer completed his earthly assignment and entered into eternal rest on August 19, 2025.

He was born on September 12, 1956, in Houston, Texas, to Shed James Williams and Hazel Balfour Williams. Raised in Gallup, New Mexico, Charles was nurtured in a circle of deep family love and strong values. At a young age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at his family's church, beginning a lifelong journey of faith and service. A proud graduate of Gallup High School, he went on to further his education at New Mexico Highlands University.

Prior to his retirement, for more than thirty years, Charles was a valued and dedicated

employee of AT&T, where his work ethic, integrity, and kindness left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends. He embraced his true calling, having accepted the Lord's call into ministry, Reverend Charles Williams faithfully served as an Ordained Minister at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church for many years. His ministry was marked by compassion, humility, and a steadfast commitment to sharing God's Word.

A country boy at heart, Charles found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing,

spending time outdoors, and was known for his remarkable skills in the kitchen, especially his baking, and barbeque which brought smiles to many. Above all, he was a man of principles and values, working tirelessly to provide for and guide his family.

Reverend Charles Laval Williams lived a life that reflected the light of Christ, serving others, loving deeply, and walking humbly with God. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him. "Well done, good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of your Lord." Matthew 25:23. He is preceded in death by his parents, Shed Williams, Sr., and Hazel Balfour Williams, brother, Raymond Williams; nephew, Raymond Williams, Jr.

His legacy of love, faith, and service will forever remain in the hearts of his children, Chasmine Williams, Christina Johns Wilcox (Kevin), and Robert Conley (Samantha); his cherished grandchildren, Dionnah Alfred and Blake Edward Conley; his former wife and committed friend, April Williams; his brother, Shed Williams, Jr.; devoted cousins, Dr. Emiel Owens, Jr. and Sheila Owens-Collins, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, the Hopewell Church family and friend.

DAUGHTER

From the beginning, you were my hero.

You were strong, not just in stature, but in spirit.

A quiet, steady strength.

You were courageous – not because you were never afraid,

but because you faced life's challenges with unwavering resolve.

My greatest gift from you and what I will carry the most is the way you loved me.

You loved with all your heart – fiercely, selflessly, and without condition.

That love shaped who I am. It gave me confidence. It gave me peace.

And it will continue to guide me for the rest of my life.

We shared so many memories – quiet moments, laughter, long talks,

simple days that now feel like treasures. Those memories are what I will hold onto most,

because they remind me of the love we shared and the bond that can never be broken.

I miss you deeply, more than words can say.

But I feel you with me – in my heart, in my memories, and in everything I do.

I love you, Dad. I always have, and I always will.

WITH ALL MY HEART, DAD

Pa Pa

"I adored you PaPa and being your granddaughter

has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

You filled my childhood with laughter, stories,

and unconditional love, and you continued to bless me with

your kindness and encouragement into adulthood.

Your love has been a constant in my life,

and I will hold on to that love as a guiding light in the years ahead.

You will always be remembered not just as my PaPa, but as my hero."

LOVE,

DIONNAH "Monkey"
