Charles N. Williams

Charles N. Williams, age 91 of Deptford Twp., NJ passed away at home on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Born at home in Pitman to the late Herschel Williams and Sarah J. (nee Myers), he graduated from Pitman High School Class of 1952. He married the late Emma Jane Fowler on September 17, 1955 and together raised their daughter. Charles retired from E.I. Dupont De Nemours in Deepwater where he was a Pipefitter, retiring in 2001. He was a resident of Deptford Twp. since 1958.

Charles was known as Pop to everyone and was always willing to help family and friends. He was an expert with home repairs & projects. Charles was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed trips to the Jersey shore with his wife and family. Most of all he loved his family and cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda J. Johnson & her husband, Gary; two grandchildren, Mark Johnson & his wife, Allyn and Staci McGrenaghan & her husband, Keith; great grandchildren, Brandon, Addisen, Tyler, Kayla, Sadie, and Tanner; and his sister-in-law, Helen Fowler and many loving nieces and nephews, known to them as Uncle Norm. Charles was also survived by his dear friend, Anne Childress. Charles was predeceased by his siblings, Bertha (Betty), Herschel (Bud), and Doris.

Relatives and friends may visit from 9 am to 11 am on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Interment will follow in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
