Charles R. Wilson, 79, of Atchison, Kansas passed away May 12, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home in Atchison, Kansas, with Fr. Meinrad Miller will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. The burial will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens in Atchison. Memorials are suggested to Amberwell Hospice or to the Atchison Elks Lodge. Condolences may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com
Charles was born on October 22, 1945, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Charles "Everett" and Madeline Zeta (Barber) Wilson. In 1963, he graduated from Atchison High School and went on to get a certificate in Blueprint and Drafting. Charles married Barbara Sue Beien on Oct. 30, 1964, and she survives at home. He and Barb celebrated 60 years of marriage on Oct. 30, 2024. He taught his sons his hard-working skills and talents and was very proud of both of his children. Charles was a Pattern Maker for fifty-one years and was co-owner of Wilson Pattern Company until his retirement. He enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, cooking and gardening. Charles could build anything that his wife suggested. Charles and Barb were very happy being together and enjoyed their evening rides.
Charles is survived by his wife and sons, Charles "Chuck" (Karen) Wilson, Kevin Wilson (Jenette Marshall), grandchildren Blake (Jami) Wilson and Conner Wilson, Shayna (Daniel) Karns, Alexis (Tate) Smith, great-grandchildren, Lacy, Miles, two on the way, Baby Karns and Baby Smith, brothers, Darrel (Rosalie) Wilson, Gary Wilson and Harold (Elva) Wilson, brother-in-laws Nick (Pattie) Beien and Ern (Cindy) Beien.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lloyd Lavelle Wilson, sisters, Zeta Gordon, Florence Wilson, Deloras Wilson and Carol Wilson, father and mother- in- law, Sylvester & Jean Beien, brother-in-law, Wayne Gordon, sister in laws, JoAnn Wilson and Mary Lou Wilson.
