Charles A. Wright, 83, of Addison, passed away on March 5, 2026, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, with his loving family by his side.

Chuck was born on January 6, 1943, to the late Charles L. and Kathryn (Burdick) Wright. He was a veteran of the United States Army. On December 31, 1977, he married Sandra Woodworth. Together they shared many happy years riding Chuck's Harley and taking trips to Florida, where they enjoyed spending winters. They especially loved riding with his sister Joyce and brother-in-law Brian Hargrave.

Chuck was an avid race fan and could often be found at Woodhull Raceway in his younger years, driving the No. 66 car. At one point he earned the title of track champion three years in a row. After retiring from racing, he proudly passed the No. 66 on to his sons and later to his grandson Mason Wright.

Chuck was a highly skilled mechanic who loved spending time in the garage with family and neighbors. A loyal Ford enthusiast, he shared many good-natured jokes with his neighbor, Jr. Bills, as they debated Ford versus Chevy. Many people went out of their way to have Chuck work on their vehicles because he was known for doing things the "Wright" way.

Chuck also enjoyed hunting and shooting with his family and his best friend, Johnny VanOrsdale.

He was a member of Buck Settlement Baptist Church.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; his daughter, Melonie (Jonathon) Coots of Bath; his sons, Scott (Diana) Wright of Cameron Mills, Charles (Emily) Wright of Addison, and Tyler (Becca Duell) Wright of Addison, and daughters Robyn Knapp and Karen Rexford from previous relations; his grandchildren, Jacob, Marissa, Levi, Mackenzie, Mason, Charleigh, Bricen, and Paisley; 10 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Betty (Tom) Smith of Lindley, Joyce (Brian) Hargrave of Addison, and Michael Wright of Addison. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mary, and daughter Lori Kemp.

A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Woodhull, New York.
