Charles Yandle Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 14, 2025.
Charles Dennis Yandle, 85, went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 2, 1940, in Charlotte, NC, he was the only child of the late Parks Alonzo Yandle and Martha Leila Snyder Yandle. He attended Central High School.

Dennis met the love of his life in 1964 and they were married on October 16, 1965. They spent nearly 60 wonderful years together. He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Hinson Yandle; daughters, Sharon (Jeff) Russell and Pamela (Joel) Lickliter; four grandsons, Matthew Russell, Benjamin (Alyson) Russell, Cameron (Melinda) Lickliter, and Aaron Lickliter; and two great-grandchildren, Truman Lickliter and Juliette Lickliter.

He loved his family more than anything. He loved when all the children and grandchildren came to visit. He would sit and listen to all the conversations and greatly enjoyed everyone just being together.

Dennis was a faithful and active member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church for almost 30 years up until the last year when his health wouldn't allow him to be there in person. He was a very kind and compassionate tender-hearted man. He never failed to give when there was a need. His faith in God carried him throughout his life and he looked forward to the day that he would see Jesus face to face. His everyday life was a testimony to Jesus living in him. He often said that he was a winner either way. If God chose to heal his body he would get to stay here with Ann and if not, he would get to go to Heaven to be with Jesus. He told many doctors and nurses this through the last 5 years.

Dennis was the manager of US Textiles in Charlotte for many years. He later turned his love of his favorite hobby into a business in 1988. He opened his own business in Monroe which he owned and operated for 28 years until his retirement in 2017.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.
