Charles Zaffuto
Rochester: Passed away on January 20, 2024 at age 67. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Josephine. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kristine (Calitri); his son, Daniel; his sister, Kitty (Vic) Cavalieri; his grandsons, Jack Zaffuto, Sam Zaffuto, Kaleb Barnard, and Declan Barnard; closest and dearest friends, Mike and Rena Argento; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Born and raised in Rochester, Chuck was a selfless, giving man, a devoted husband, and a dedicated father, his son was his pride and joy. He was the best papa ever. His family came first above all. He was a chef in Rochester for many years, helping to open numerous country clubs and restaurants. He ran Rund's on the Ridge in the 1980's, cooked at Jines on Park Ave and ran Country Village restaurant. He re-opened and refurbished the kitchen in the Genesee Brewery and his last position was with Mark IV Enterprises running nine kitchens as the executive chef of their Legacy independent living communities.
One of his great passions was his many motorcycles, riding with his friends, he was an avid golfer, his favorite courses were the ones in Walt Disney World, which he played numerous times on their many Disney trips over the last 30 years. As a professional chef, he loved cooking for family and friends, hosting many parties, picnics, clam bakes and birthdays....as well as all the holidays and hosting get togethers for the guys on Saturday nights for the UFC fights. As he would always say..." stop by for a dish of macaroni".
Chuck lived a full life and was met with many health challenges. He fought hard to stay healthy mostly for the sake of his grandsons, wishing to be here to watch them grow. If you were fortunate enough to have him as your friend, your life was better for it.
Chuck's life story will be shared during his visitation on Sunday, February 4th from 1-5 pm at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, 14626. His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 5th at 11 am at Greece Assembly of God, 750 Long Pond Rd., 14612. Please consider a donation in his name to assist his family gofund.me/c8391f6a
