Mr. Charles (Charlie) Leonard Fillpot, Jr. of Dallas, GA, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son-in-law, and friend gained his angel wings on June 15, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Charlie was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Colon Cancer and was given a 3–6-month prognosis. However, he bravely fought for 4 ½ years.
He was born on April 6, 1965, in Wichita, KS to the late Marion Hoisington Fillpot Trimble, late Charles Leonard Fillpot, Sr. and Gary Walton Trimble. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marion and Lucy Hoisington; paternal grandparents; Lottie Jane and George Fillpot, and Ernest and Thelma Trimble; sisters; Patricia Wilson and Barbara Ghea; brothers, Ronnie Wilson, Roger Wilson, Dennis Wilson and David Wilson.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Anita (Hart) Fillpot; daughter, Krystylynn (Fillpot) Holland; son, Tyler Fillpot; grandson, Rylan Holland; granddaughter; Ryleigh (Rue) Massey; sisters, Becky Farmer and Nancy Fillpot; brothers, Marion Fillpot (Kim), Burt Wilson; father, Gary Trimble; father and mother-in-Law, Anthony and Loretta Hart; sister and brother-in-law, Jerry and Lolita Deavers; and various nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Charlie was a man who lived to help others. He loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his family, and friends. Charlie loved to go fishing. He loved to spend time with his wife, his children, and especially his grandchildren. He was wrapped around his grandchildren's little fingers. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved going to see them play. Charlie worked in maintenance, HVAC/plumbing. He worked at Kaiser Permanente and Post Properties for most of his career. He had a cunning sense of humor and was always making everyone laugh around him. Even in the last of his days, he was still using his humor to comfort those around him. Charlie will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.
The viewing is to be held at Miller Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST. The funeral will be held in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 2:00PM with Rev. Shawn Scuffle and Rev. Harold E. Payne officiating. Eulogies will be given by Nancy Fillpot and Krystylynn Holland. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Scuffle, Steve Garmon, Scott Pope, Tyler Fillpot, Jerry Deavers, and Jon Padilla. Honorary pallbearers will be Marion Fillpot and Mark Massey. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.
