Charlie Kiser Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 23, 2023.
Charlie Edmond Kiser, born on October 24, 1934, in Hockley County, Texas, peacefully passed away on November 18, 2023, in Keller, Texas.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Charlie's unwavering faith and sacrificial nature made him a true Christian servant leader in every aspect of his life.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Lynette Kiser, and their four children: Gary Kiser and wife, Kaye, Sandi Hornibrook, Julie Zamora and husband, Daniel, and Brien Kiser. He was also blessed with thirteen grandchildren: Craig and wife, Jen, Joseph, Jeremy and wife, Janna, Kristen and husband, Mike, Cale, Monica, DJ, Averie, Sarah, Michael, Laura, Erika and husband, Will, and Marlene. Charlie was a proud great-grandfather to Claire, Olive, Tommy, Wesley, Lorena, Aubrey, Vivienne, and Dresden.
Born as the youngest into a large family, Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Cicero Wesley (Papa), his mother, Nellie (Grannie), and seven siblings. He humbly served his extended family as the last of his generation.
Charlie's educational journey was unique. He attended Whitharral Primary School but left during World War II to care for the family farm while his brothers served in the military. Later, he returned to school and earned his GED, as well as receiving training from various trade schools. Charlie served his country with honor as a mechanic on the B36 in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he joined the El Paso Fire Department in 1958, dedicating himself to protecting and serving the community. In the final six years of his career, Charlie worked as a Fire Marshal, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community he served.
Charlie's faith was an integral part of his life. He became a Christian while stationed in El Paso during his time in the Air Force. Shortly afterward, he met his beloved wife, Lynette at Grandview Church of Christ. He served as a Deacon at Westside Church of Christ for many years before moving to the DFW metroplex in 1989. He worshiped with the College Hill Church of Christ until recently when he moved to the Keller Church of Christ.
In his free time, Charlie enjoyed being a handyman, always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He dedicated his efforts at church to run a bus program that led countless children to a life in Christ. Charlie also actively participated in Mission Printing and World Bible School.
Charlie Edmond Kiser will be remembered for his unshakable smile, unwavering faith, and unending encouragement. His legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Mission Printing, Inc. at 2707 Medlin Drive, Arlington, Texas 76015 or online at https://www.missionprinting.us/support_forms.html
