Charlie Medows of Cuba, Missouri was born on March 12, 1936, in Caruthersville, Missouri to Harding A. and Nova V. (Bishop) Medows. He left this life on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Phelps Health in Rolla at the age of 88.
Charlie was united in marriage to Pat Stone on January 4, 1958, in Red Bird, Missouri. To this union five children were born Chuck, Patricia Lynne, Vickie, Jeff and Jason.
Charlie was a “Legend” in Crawford County and was a well-known entrepreneur in the area. He previously owned Interstate Livestock Market in Cuba, was known as a land developer, cattle rancher, farmer and a Quarter Horse Breeder. He was inducted into the Missouri Quarter Horse Association Hall of Fame and was a longtime member of Trinity Chapel.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents Harding A. and Nova V. (Bishop) Medows; four siblings Buddy Medows, Norman Joe Medows, Patsy Spurgeon and Tracey Medows.
Those who left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of sixty-six years Pat Medows of Cuba; five children Chuck and wife Rhonda Medows of St. James, Lynne and husband John Hewkin of Cuba, Vickie and husband Brian Barrett of Cuba, Jeff and wife Amy Medows of Cuba, Jason and wife Keri Medows of Cuba; six siblings Leilanni “Skip” Hafley of Wildwood, Kahola “Kitty” Tucker of Warrensburg, Harding A. Medows, Jr. of St. James, Don and wife Pam Medows of Pacific, Mike and wife Karen Medows of Union, Ann Pallarey of Kave City, Arkansas; seventeen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Cook, officiating.
Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
