Charlie Roderic "Rod" Smith Jr.

C. Rod Smith aka Charlie Roderic Smith, Jr., of Apopka, Florida went home to be with the Lord on October 3, 2025. Rod was born in Daytona Beach, Florida on May 1, 1941, as Charlie Roderic Smith, Jr. He married Mari Alyce Gardner on May 11, 1962. He retired from Lockheed Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mari Alyce Gardner Smith, and parents, Charlie R. Smith, Sr. and Vivian V. Smith. He is survived by his son Charlie "Chuck" R. Smith III, with wife Theresa; his son Jon R. Smith, with partner Tammy Tucker; his six grandchildren, Charlie, Courtenay, Vincent, Jennifer, Jeremy, and Chad; along with six great-grandchildren. Rod will be cremated and there will be no funeral service. Arrangements are entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home in Tavares, Florida.
